We Are The Soul Sisters And These Are Our Stories
Christine is the founder and the visionary behind the Soul Sisters Memorial Foundation. She is passionate about the work that Soul Sisters does in the community and books all the monthly workshops, connects people with resources and just completed her certificate in Psychological Disorders. Christine has 2 grandsons that she likes to keep involved in the organization and looks forward to the steady growth of supporters and momentum that Soul Sisters is gaining each and every day.
Karen is one of the founding members of the Soul Sisters Memorial Foundation. She is a Mom to 4 busy adult daughters, an entrepreneur and is in charge of licensing and insurance for our annual fundraiser. Karen has an amazing network of people that have been guests at Nelly’s Project who in turn have contributed auction donations.
Kelly is one of the founding members of the Soul Sisters. She is a Mom to 4 and works as an LPN at the Sturgeon Hospital in St. Albert. Kelly is very involved with the distress/crisis calls we receive and her compassion and care is heartwarming. Kelly attends our meetings, workshops and helps out at any event she can. We always laugh as she seems to have most of her great ideas late at night when she is just finishing work!
Colleen is one of the founding members of the Soul Sisters as well as our Treasurer. Colleen is our “Silent Auction” Queen and takes fantastic pride in making sure we have an outstanding display of auction items. She also does all the planning for our “Mystery Trip” that we auction off each year.
Angie joined Soul Sisters in 2014 and has a key role in our foundation. She has been a volunteer with Victim Services for 17 years; with her education, experience and passion for helping others she is our Team Lead for distress/crisis calls. Angie is full of life and love; and is a huge advocate for those that suffer. She also facilitates some of our workshops and has obtained her certificate in Grief Counselling. Angie is excited for the future of Soul Sisters!
Ramona joined Soul Sisters in 2015. She is a Dental Hygienist at the Westlock Dental Centre and her energy and passion for volunteering is second to none. Not only does Ramona help out with the annual fundraiser by being our “Pastry Chef” for the Legacy of Life dessert, she is a fantastic clerk for our live auction, planner of our annual BBQ, helps at the monthly workshops and loves to bring baking to our meetings!
Dominika wins for being the Soul Sister that lives the furthest away! She resides in Vancouver and has her Early Childhood Education Degree and loves to work with children. Dominika helps each year at the annual fundraiser and is in charge of our posters for our workshops. She loves to participate as much as she can and we appreciate her creativity.
Kelly joined Soul Sisters in 2015. Her bubbly personality and willingness to help makes her a fantastic volunteer. She loves to help with the annual fundraiser and attends all of our monthly workshops. She is a great advocate for what we do.
Kari joined our team in 2016 and has her own business in Marwayne. She is one busy lady – Sears Outlet, ATB agency, Cafe, Ladies clothing store and still has time for all of her pets (and hubby). Kari used to live in Westlock in 1998 and has stayed in touch with the rest of the Soul Sisters. She has attended the previous fundraisers and with a creative eye for decorating and planning we knew that we needed to add her to our team.
Irene joined Soul Sisters in 2016; however was actively helping in whatever capacity she could since 2014. She lives in Sedgewick and is Auntie to some of the Soul Sisters. Irene loves to help at Nelly’s Project and has lots of great ideas about decorating, volunteer positions and entertainment.
Janice is one of the founding members of Soul Sisters. She is a Health Care Aide and is busy on her acreage with her 2 boys and all her animals. Janice helps out with Nelly’s Project and always comes up with some very unique handmade items. She is also a huge part of our events at Ambrose Place as she provide free haircuts for all the residents each year.
